Motherboards maker Gigabyte will make a big launch with Intel’s new Z68 chipset. Even if the company has denied any rumors that it will skip P67 entirely it could have fooled us. It has now released the names of no less than 11 different motherboards sporting Intels Z68 chipset.
Gigabyte recently announced the Windows tool Touch BIOS that allows users to change BIOS settings in Windows. The official download site for the application has a list of compatible Intel Z68 motherboards and with 11 different models Gigabyte shows it is serious about the new chipset.
Judging from the product names Gigabyte has plans to launch two smaller Micro-ATX models and nine larger ATX boards. As we reported a while back Gigabyte will not launch Intel Z68 motherboards with video outputs, which means just some will support Intel Quick Sync amd switching between graphics circuits.

Gigabyte will instead focus on Intel’s Smart Response Technology where smaller SSDs can be used to speed up the performance of the system by acting as a buffer to the harddrive. Gigabyte will launch the first Intel Z68 motherboards on May 11th, but the prices are still unknown.
