Google has with its new mail service gotten many people to change their earlier services for Gmail. The big space for storage and some clever features has made the service very popular, but everything isn’t at peace in Google-land. A built-in antivirus service sounds of course like something many would appreciate, but when google doesn’t allow to shut it down and all executable files are blocked, and when Google at the same time refuses to reveal whose antivirus they use, some get a bit sad.
Shutting down the antivirus protection may sound pretty stupid, but if you would like to send an infected file to your antivirus-developer, you will probably not get all too far with Gmail. This has led to the fact that people simply tries to work their way around the protection.
