Google Checkout simplifies online shopping

Google Checkout became the final name of Google’s new online shopping service which we’ve earlier reported about. Google markets Checkout as a service to simplify online shopping where you usually have to tamper with different payment methods and forms at different stores. Google Checkout saves your credit card information and this stays within Google’s service. Instead of having to fill out your VISA information and card number at every store you visit and order from you will instead be able to use your Google account where all this information is already saved and not even the store you buy from will have access to your account information.

Of course the store has to sport Google Checkout and so far there are relatively few of these but we estimate that the list will be getting quite longer fast. Just as expected Google wants to tie up its new service with its other projects and the new slogan pretty much says it all;

“Find it with Google. Buy it with Google Checkout.”

Google Checkout seems to be an interesting alternative to e.g. PayPal, even if Google is not comparing itself to this service and those who wants to know more about Checkout can check out an introduction video at the homepage.
