Google is since earlier an important partner to Mozilla and their open-source webbrowser Firefox. Google’s search engine is used in Firefox, among others, but also the default start page in the browser is Google.com. Google undoubtedly wants good things to happen to Firefox and are now showing that by paying for an user-frendlieness survey and the beginning of a Firefox affiliate program. When Mozilla wanted to know how users reacted to the tabbrowsing preferences in Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 Google, not Mozilla, put the survey out. Google seems undoubtedly to want to be involved in Firefox’s development and that is something we can’t complain about, considering Google’s successes.
