Rumors have been going around that Google is working on a mobile phone. Google has responded a few times in the regular manner, where you’re left with even more questions afterward and there has been no confirmation, until now. According to a Spanish website, Isabel Aquilera, head of Google Spain and Portugal, has uttered a comment that points to that the company is indeed working on a mobile phone of its own;
“Some of the time the engineers are dedicated to developing a mobile phone,”
This, together with a number of other indications, strengthens the fact that Google has long-gone plans for a mobile phone.
We’re awaiting an official statement that will finally proves or dismisses this, but Google hasn chosen not to reply when asked to comment on Isabel Aquilera’s statement. If these rumors turn out to be correct we will see a BlackBerry-inspired Google Phone sporting VoIP.
