Google has a piece in almost everything these days and the latest build is a data center inside an old paper mill. The data center is cooled by the nearby sea and it has taken precautions to make sure the environment is affected to a minimal degree.
The new data center was built in an old paper mill in Finland that Google acquired back in 2009. center is cooled completely by sea water and there were many challenges along the way. The hardest has been to avoid the corrossion sea water causes, but it has taken precautions to make sure the heated sea water is cooled again, to make sure the surrounding environment is affected as little as possible.
