An operating system from Google is one of the most stubborn rumors that has ever appeared on the web. Google claims that there is no such thing and that it is not interested in competing directly with Microsoft. Read/Write Web has taken a look at the possibilities surrounding this anyway and created three different scenarios: A web based desktop (i.e. operating system), A full featured Linux distribution and A lightweight Linux distro and/or BIOS. Even if it’s just speculations the scenarios are quite interesting. With the article there’s also an interesting discussion which brings up some interesting angles.
