G.Skill has presented a new series of DDR3 memory modules called Sniper that targets gamers and modders. Unlike G.Skill’s performance products the Sniper series focus on efficiency, where several kits can do with as little as 1.25V.
Most DDR3 modules targeting enthusiasts operate at 1.65V to reach maximal frequencies. G.Skill settles for frequencies between 1333 MHz and 1866 MHz with minimal power consumption. The voltages vary between the kits, from 1.25V up to 1.6V.
The New Sniper series is designed in ultra low voltage, especially 1.25V. This kit can save up to 10% electric power which will simultaneously allow gamers to enjoy smooth gaming without any overheat problems and meet energy efficiency requirements.
All kits have one thing in common, they use 4GB Sniper modules with a theme heatspreader in kits of 8GB, 12GB, 16GB or 24GB, which means they fit in both dual and triple channel systems.
