HIPEPC is short for High Performance Personal Computer and is a company that specializes in powerful computers in various shapes. Everything from stationary gaming systems to portable power packages. But it also offers something most other system builders haven’t thought about, namely cap PCs. Fitting a full scale computer in the car instead of a a simple car stereo has been more and more common and HIPEPC has been quick to adapt to the trend. It has now launched it latest cap PC in the shape of Drive-N and we can see some very interesting features. The hardware can be configured in a number of ways with several different displays, to name on thing.
The top model uses a touchscreen mounted in two DIN slots in the instrument panel and all of the systems are based on Windows Vista and its new Media Center interface. Another Vista feature that really comes to good use here is the voice recognition technology, the entire PC can namely be controlled through you voice commands.
“Seamlessly access all of your home media files and documents without the clumsiness and risk of balancing a notebook on the passenger seat. Best of all, Driv-N can be controlled entirely by voice! Simply speak the song/movie title, artist, album or genre and Driv-N will play your selection, whether it’s on your car PC, home PC or notebook.”
HIPEPC has built real monster of a PC and the fact that Windows Vista is starting to integrate itself into our cars should be enough proof that Microsoft has at least done something right with its new operating system.
