Hiper Type-R HPU-4×730 is the latest addition to PSU manufacturer Hiper’s Type-R series and to our faithful readers this series is one of great reputation. When we tested the first modular PSU of Hiper’s Type-R series the judgement was very positive and since then we’ve been on the lookout for the successor. Now Hiper has released a new flagship of the Type-R series and it is rumored to be a power supply at 730W (!) and just as earlier rumors have revealed it will bring support for Quad SLI. This through four dedicated 12V lines for PCI Express graphics cards and also worth to mention is that the PSU has been designed according to the BTX standard.

We’ve managed to get a hold of some high resolution pictures of Hiper’s latest creation where you can clearly see the new Omnigrid II chassis, which use a new and convenient connection system for the modular cables. We are still awaiting the price of Hiper’s new power supply unit, but on paper, and picture, things are looking very promising.

“HPU-4×730 also provides P4 and P8 con- nector for users with motherboard that requires P8 connection, and with 5 modules of Molex output thus by using appropriate exTender™ it enables user to connect up to 20 devices.”
