Hipro5 returns with some Ultra benchmarking, AquaMark 3 and 3DMark 01 world record

Hipro5 is one of the most respected overclockers we have today. He’s one of the people who are competing at the very top of world ranking and a while back he posted this preview thread over at XtremeSystems. There he unveiled some rather impressive teaser scores with a pair of GeForce 8800 Ultras moderately overclocked. Well now he has returned and with him he brings a new 3DMark 2001 world record. The Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 gets to show what it’s worth and there was quite a few motherboards involved, but the final choice was the ASUS Striker Extreme together with a pair of Corsair Dominators 10000 running at 443MHz 3-3-3-11.

Hipro has posted results in three 3DMark categories and a rather impressive AquaMark 3 score as well; 269,401, which is also a world record with SLI.

His 3DMark scores are nothing but stunning, especially as he has posted results in 3DMark 2001, 3DMark 03 and 3DMark 05. Unfortunately the best run in 03 was lost, but we have to say that the backup run was quite nice too.

While most users rely on high-end power supplies from different high-end manufacturers, Hipro5 built his own. A 12V monster so to speak. He has posted some pictures of the power supply as well, along with some pictures of his soldering work and voltmods. These are things he is perhaps best known for in the benchmarking community. Simply breathtaking.

His 3DMark 2001 run ended with a new world record at 104,905 and a 1537 FPS in Nature. The Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 processor was running at 5.3GHz (in all tests) and the graphics cards at 1008/1224Mhz.

3DMark 03 was once again close to seeing that six figure score, but he missed it just barely. 94,630 is still pretty damn nice though. The GeForce 8800 Ultras were running at 972/1224MHz at the time. The cards do not overclock equally though. One is capable of 1060/1265MHz and the other 1045/1224MHz. It may not seem as much of a difference but the gap is indeed an annoyance when you’re overclocking and SLI seems to enlarge the “problem” somehow.

3DMark 05 is currently dominated by Radeon HD 2900 XT CrossFire, but GeForce 8800 Ultra SLI is still a contender. Hipro5 has posted a result not that far behind of what Kinc polished the world record to not too long ago. Hipro5 managed to reach 33,774 points in 3DMark 05 with the graphics cards running at 1035/1224MHz, but he expects to break 34,000 soon with Ultra SLI. He has a pair of Radeon HD 2900 XTs as well and we might see some figures with these soon.
