The first, but probably not the last, competition based on the game Icy Tower has been finalized at DreamHack and it was sparkling in many ways. Many wanted to try their luck on the obviously demanding platform game. The competitors had big problems with lag, which could be considered strange, with a test system containing an Athlon 64 X2 4600+, GeForce 7800GTX 512MB and 2GB RAM. The hard conditions made the ending hard to predict, but when the clock hit midnight the following trio went happily home with some new hardware from AOpen.
First prize:
Erik Elmeke – 3047 points
Second prize:
Jesper Engdahl – 2975 points
Third prize:
Johan Edman – 2924 points
May congratulations to the three winners! We also want to thank everyone competing in the Icy Tower competition and we hope to see as many competitors if the game shows up at DreamHack in the future. For information about the contest and prizes check out our DreamHack-site below.
