iMac Core Duo is as you perhaps know the first stationary computer from Apple that use Intel’s processor platform and it is a very important system to Apple. At Ars Technica they’ve now published one of the first reviews of Apple’s new iMac Core Duo where they have taken a closer look at the 17″ model. At a first glance it is very little that separates the new iMacs from the previous, but on the inside there are some great changes. In the review they’ve tested the iMac Core Duo with a 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo against an iMac G5 with a 1.8GHz PowerPC processor. but also the more powerful Power Mac G5 and iMac Core Duo looks to perform well in comparison against its older brothers. They compare everything from performance to software and an eventual windows use so there is a lot of interesting information here.
