Earlier during the day we got some information about one of ABIT’s upcoming Pentium 4 boards. Not fully unexpected it is a board in ABIT’s price awarded MAX series which now shows up with support for 800MHz FSB.
The card utilizes, as the name reveals, Intel’s Canterwood chipset which announces for optimal performance. The board ships with lots of features for example 4 SATA connections, where 2 can be in a RAID array. GigaBit Ethernet, 8 USB2.0 ports, 2 FireWire ports and 6 channel sound are other nice supplements.
What for the moment gets the most attention is the board’s solution for cooling the MOSFETs (handles the power to the cpu). These have a tendency go get very hot especially while overclocking, and ABIT has gone so far that they have equipped the board with active MOSFET cooling.
We can surely expect more information soon but for now you can enjoy two images of the board.
