GeForce GTX 470 may be a lightweight compared to big brother GTX 480 in terms of heat and power. The card is still hot and noisy though, but Inno3D hopes to change this. The company has designed a new cooling solution for GTX 470 and the CAD drawings of i-Chill GTX 470 Hawk are now available.
The pictures reveal that the cooler will be bigh with several strategically placed heatpipes and a massive aluminum heatsink covering the entire card. The heatsink in turn has three fans where two looks to measure 80mm and the third 92mm.
Being based on NVIDIA’s GTX 470 GPU the card will have 1280MB memory and 448 CUDA processors. If the new cooler will enable Inno3D to raise the frequencies remains to be seen. If nothing else the card should be cooler.
If and when Inno3D’s new GTX 470 graphics card appears is yet to be confirmed.
