Intel is in the middle of releasing new software development kits (SDK) that will help software developers to write multi-threaded applications. This is so that you will be able to actually make use of all of the performance of the new dual-core Core achitecture. A number of SDKs have been developed and these will lead to improved performance with applications when running on multi-core systems. Programs that have been written from a multi-core perspective have already been released but there is still a lot left to be harvested from the performance of the new dual-core processors, which then of course include AMD’s X2 series.
