Intel is planning to announce a new dual-core entry model about a month from now, January 20. The model will supposedly be called Celeron E1200, sport a 1.6 Ghz clock frequency, 512 KB L2 cache, 65 W TDP and a 800 MHz FSB. It could very well be that this piece of silicon is basically a left-over Conroe core with disabled cache, or even an Allendale that just didn’t make the cut. With a price of $53, in quantities of 1000 units, Intel hopes to push out more 65 nm processors and make more room for the 45 nm generation.
