The overclocker Kyosen has done a real grand slam this week by bringing his Core Duo processor to new heights and set new records in all of the SuperPI tests with an Intel system. Kyosen has used AOpen’s i975Xa-YDG motherboard as a platform for the mobile Intel processor Core Duo, the model used here was a T2600 clocked at 2.16GHz and a 667MHz processor bus. Default that is, during the record tests Kyosen had pushed the processor to 3.66GHz with a bus at 1126MHz. This made it possible to finish SuperPi 1M after only 16.281 sec. To reach these frequencies he had to use liquid nitrogen and except from his 5 SuperPI world records he achieved a nice score with Aquamark with a ATI Radeon X1900 Crossfire setup.
Intel’s Core Duo processors are really well performing and the overclocking potential is truly amazing. Hardly the last we will hear from Core Duo and hopefully we, NH, will be able to contribute with some of these soon.
