Intel’s new 32 nanometer architecture has shown promise in early overclocking attempts and already before the launch members of the Clarkdale family, Core i5 670, was near to break 7GHz with some help from liquid nitrogen and the skills of Taiwanese overclocker “nickshih”. The official launch is behind us and after switching motherboard he given it another try and broken the mighty 7GHz, something Intel’s processors hasn’t done since the NetBurst era.
Nickshih used an EVGA E658 motherboard and a dewar of liquid nitrogen. After feeding the processor 2.1V he could reach a processor frequency of 7002.66MHz for a mighty impressive screenshot.
