Intel isn’t holding anything back at the moment and its new Core architecture is moving along nicely, but we should forget about the rest Intel is doing. Intel has already made some great progress with its 45nm technology and Intel has no intention of hiding its plans for the new manufacturing technology. It has namely announced that it will invest from $1 billion to $1.5 billion in its Fab 11X manufacturing plant in Rio Rancho, USA. Money that will be used to prepare the plant for manufacturing of 45nm processors and will be the fourth 45nm plant in Intel’s possession. Fab 11X will start its 45nm manufacturing during the second half of 2008 and Intel will most likely have a broad assortment of 45nm products by then.
