Intel launches cheap Pentiums silently

0

Intel has in silence started to offer cheap/low end processors to bigger PC-manufacturers. The Pentium 516 is actually closer related to the Celeron D than the regular official Pentiums as it lacks many of the features they have, such as HyperThreading. This isn’t the first time Intel has done this, Pentium 505 and Pentium 519 are previous examples. This makes you wonder that if you buy a PC from a company can you really trust that you get a real Pentium 4, or get a stripped low end Celeron look-a-like.
