Intel Pentium Extreme Edition 955 is the name of latest monster processor from Intel. The chip giant has ironically enough chosen to launch its new, most expensive consumer processor at the same time as the stores starts their sales after Christmas. Pentium Extreme Edition 955 is continue where the Pentium 840 Extreme Edition left off. There are several similarities between them, both are based on the NetBurst architecture, dual cores and costs $1000. But there is also a whole bunch separating them, Pentium Extreme Edition 955 has been tuned in several manners where they have first of all shrunk the manufacturing process to 65nm. But new technologies such as Vanderpool and LaGrande are also additions to Intel’s new flagship.
