Intel’s new processor family for the stationary market Core 2, better known as Conroe, has had its launch postponed. That is at least what HKEPC reports now that they say that Intel has decided to launch Conroe on July 27 instead of the 23rd, which earlier rumors stated. The new Core 2 family will contain five different processors, Core 2 Extreme X6800, Core 2 Duo E6700, E6600, E6400 and E6300. Together with the new processors it will also release its new motherboard chipsets Intel 965/963 in various nuances.

They also say that Intel is planning to launch a budget model of Conroe, Core 2 Duo E4200, which will work at 1.6GHz and, separating it from the rest, only use an 800MHz FSB. This modell is not expected to arrive until the fourth quarter. Any information regarding the price is yet to be revealed.
