Intel has made a deal with ATi where it will use the graphic card manufacturer’s chipsets for its Intel-branded mainboards. This came as a big surprise to many but not all that weird considering Intel’s prioritizes the high end market. Therefore it is no surprise that it now launches the first “ATi-based” Intel mainboard discretely. The mainboard is called D101GGC and has just simply appeared at Intel’s homepage. Just as expected it is a low end board using ATi’s Xpress 200 chipset and supports Intel’s 775-processors.
Intel D101GGC will most likely only be available through OEM-systems, so don’t expect finding this baby in your local store. But for those who wants to read more about there is detailed information at Intel’s homepage.
