For a little more than a half a year ago, Intel started phasing out their chipsets aiming for the budget market and even if the idea may have been right, it has come with unfortunate consequences. Intel mainly lost market shares and profit as they seized to supply the market with their cheapest chipsets and even though Intel decided to restart the manufacturing of these budget chipsets earlier during the year, they’re struggling to meet customer demands. Now Intel have according to reports concluded a deal with ATI, which should help Intel’s supplies of chipsets to motherboard manufacturers. This should of course prevent similar lacks of units in the future.
Intel has reached a chipset supply agreement with ATI, said Chandrasekher, who belives that the chip maker’s shipment schedule could be more flexible due to better capacity allocations in the future.
