Intel har nu annonserat att de börjat skicka Class Mate PCs till både Mexiko och Brasilien. Vi rapporterade tidigare om hur även Chile visat intresse för Intels billiga laptop och Intel har planer på att introducera sitt Intel World Ahead Program i mer än 25 länder världen runt. Precis som OLPCs projekt så erbjuder man mer än bara datorer till dessa länder utan även utbildning för lärare och möjligheter för datorerna att koppla upp sig. Man har sedan tidigare lanserat Intel Skoool och tanken är att denna ska användas i utbildningen med. Skoool är nämligen ett verktyg där eleverna får lära sig matematik och naturvetenskap på ett flexibelt sätt.

Intel is also working with ministries of education in more than 30 countries to train 10 million teachers by the end of the decade on how to apply technology to improve learning, potentially benefiting more than 100 million students.”
