Intel starts construction of 45nm plant in Israel

Intel has as you perhaps know decided to build a new mikrochip manufacturing plant in Qiryat Gat, Israel, and finally the construction has started. At Qiryat Gat they held a press conference where they spoke of the new factory, named Fab 28, and it will be the company’s second 45nm plant and the seventh to use 300mm wafers. The plant will not be ready until summer 2008, but will result in about 2000 new jobs when it opens up, without a doubt a welcomed addition to the uncertain situation in Israel.
