When Apple launched its new series of MacBook earlier this week there were many news included in the new package, the biggest internal news, although expected, was that Apple now uses NVIDIA’s integrated graphics circuits instead of Intel’s ditto. Intel still delivers the processors for Apple’s machines but that Apple has chosen to use NVIDIA’s chipsets due to the much more powerful graphics circuits, is of course a big hit for Intel.
Now that Intel has commented on the fact that NVIDIA has grabbed a portion of Intel’s deal with Apple it is not bitter but instead says that it still has a healthy relationship with Apple, and that it will work hard to reclaim this market.
This won’t happen anytime soon though since Intel has never paid much attention to the 3D performance of its integrated graphics circuits, but perhaps Larrabee can do something about that.
