Intel will go for 90% Duo before the end of the year

Intel is truly pleased with its dual-core processors for the mobile market as it has big plans for the Core Duo manufacturing for the rest of the year. Earlier it has said that it had expected over 70% of the manufactured mobile processors would be a dual-core model at the start of 2007. Now it seems it is going for an even higher figure, 90%, and already at the end of 2006. This includes today’s Core Duo processors, but also the coming Merom that will be launched in August. While it is aiming to manufacture 90% of the mobile processors with dual cores before the end of the year, the prognosis for the stationary market looks a bit different. About 75% of the processor manufacturing will use dual-core technology.
