Intel‘s Core 2 Duo processors may be the fastest around, but if there’s anything that talks as much as performance it is money; especially on the OEM market. AMD has a broad arsenal of mobile processors on the OEM market and its introduction model in the Turion 64 X2 family has for long had a price advantage on Intel’s cheapest Core 2 Duo model. Therefore, Intel has now decided to launch a new processor model next month, October, called Core 2 Duo T5200.
The new model has not been available on any of Intel’s previous roadmaps but according to DigiTimes the processor will be launched without any fuss, just as the older Core Duo processors T2250 and T2050 was. The price of T5200 has not been set yet but it will quite a lot lower than T5500 which today costs 209 USD.
