Intel will reduce the workforce with 10,500 under a two year period

Intel has been looking over its organisation the last couple of months and tried to reorganize the company to reach higher productivity, higher earnings and more efficient development. In July Intel announced that it will dismiss 1000 managers in the company, but also a large number of employees. Now it has released new more detalied information about its reorganization where it is planning to lower its workforce to 95,000 employees at the end of 2006 and then further to 92,000 at the middle of next year. This means that it will terminate up to 10,500 people where about a third, 3000, is suppose to be plant workers. Intel is expected to save up to $2 billion up until the end of next year thanks to the reorganization.
