Intel will soon launch a new series of Core 2 Duo processors with a 1333MHz processor bus. The new processors will be a part of the Core 2 Duo E6x50 series where the top model will be called E6850 and run at 3.0GHz. At HKEPC they’ve been able to get a hold of Intel’s new processors and published a preview of the new models, motherboards supporting them and how the new processor bus affects the performance. Unfortunately the article is in Chinese but pictures and tables are hard to misinterpret and the performance comparison between 1333MHz FSB and 1066MHz FSB is pretty clear.

The improvement is pretty marginal despite the considerably higher processor bus, so those of you who have a Core 2 Duo processor with a 1066MHz bus shouldn’t be all that worried.
