Windows Vista will be Microsoft’s safest operating system yet and one of the Achilles’ heals of Windows XP is its deep integration of the browser Internet Explorer 6.0. This heavy integration has resulted in loads of security holes and Microsoft has therefore decided that Internet Explorer 7 will not be integrated into the coming Windows Vista. the browser will still be shipped with Vista, but not be baked into the system like it is with Windows XP.

“Exploits that were found to exist in current versions of Internet Explorer, were used to attack the core operating system because of the tight integration.”
