The filesharing network Kazaa has bumped into some serious obstacles after settling with the music industry. Kazaa has agreed to pay $100 million in damages and at the same time only distribute legal files in the future. The $100 million Kazaa will pay is about half of the value of Europe’s legal market for downloaded music. Just like Napster, Kazaa will now be a legal download service and it will have to be mighty successful to cover the fines it now has to pay.
