Innovative graphics card maker KFA 2 has launched a new model part of the MDT series based on Nvidia’s most powerful graphics card GTX 580, with the long name KFA 2 GTX 580 MDT X4 EX OC. The first card of its kind to support four monitors.
MDT is short for Multi Display Technology and using an extra circuit the card is no longer limited to using just two monitors, as KFA2’s card supports up to four monitors at the same time.
KFA2’s main selling point is a function called ” Virtual single monitor mode” that share a single desktop across monitors. Not without limitations though, the maximal resolution for this is 5760×1080@50Hz(1920×1080 x 3), where the update frequency could become a problem for some monitors.
The card is also overclocked from factory and runs at 840/1600/4008 Mhz, up from the reference at 772/1544/4008 Mhz (GPU/Shader/Memory) where three LED fans handles the cooling. When it comes to the connectivity there are 3 mini-HDMI and 1 DisplayPort output. The price will be around €500.
