Just a week ago we noted a score over 20,000 with 3DMark05 for the first time and now our own 3DMark guru Kinc has become the second man over the magic 20,000. Kinc achieved this in Norway together with Overklokk, Kinc’s Norwegian cooling brother that was also present when the world record was set at DreamHack Winter 2005. Kinc and Overklokk managed to push their Radeon X1900 Crossfire system to impressive 20,080 points, about 100 points lower than the current record at 20,185 poäng. They did however manage to take a photo of a run that ended with 20,184, the system hung the same second the result was presented.

Except from the majestic result with 3DMark05 they also took the time to perform a fenomenal run with 3DMark06. 12502 points is at the moment the number one score at Futuremark’s ORB, even if we know that Kingpin has reached 12800 with two 7900 GTX cards. It is still the highest score performed with an ATI based system with Futuremark’s latest test program. The system had some varying frequencies wuring the tests but here is the system used for the 3Dmark06 record.

:: ATI X1900 Crossfire @ 882/900MHz cooled by Overklokk dual evap cascade
:: ASUS A8R32-MVP vcore and vdd mod
:: FX-60 @ 3584MHz kyld by Overklokk cascade
:: 2x512MB BH-5 @ ~240MHz
:: 2xOCZ600W SLI

A Norwegian cellar at its best

Ordered chaos is important when doing serious overclocking

Close but no cigar, says more than enough here

We will continue our hunt for new benchmarking records here at NH and those who wants to do some serious benching can now take a step in the right direction as Kinc has decided to sell his Athlon 64 FX-60 processor. Keep an eye out for more overclocking news here at NH!
