Kinc heading for world record in 3Dmark06 – crushing the other ATI systems

Small preview image

Kinc has been playing around in NH’s overclocking bunker the last couple of days and despite that ATI’s latest flagship, Radeon X1950 XTX, still is very immature when it comes to extreme overclocking we’ve seen some nice results. Waiting for a worthy X1950 companion for our X1950 Crossfire card, Kinc has continued to overclock his X1950/X1900 Crossfire combo and the results have been surprisingly good. Last night the focus was on 3DMark06, a test which NVIDIA’s graphics cards have a noticeable advantage with when doing extreme overclocking. With an air-cooled Radeon X1950 Crossfire and cascade cooling on the processor and Radeon X1900 XTX has managed to reach 15,394 points.

This is  about 1700 points better than the previous ATI record found on Futuremark’s ORB and about 1000 pionts less than the official world record held by K|ngp|n with a pair of GeForce 7900GTX in SLI. Using only air on the X1950 Master and a X1900 XTX as the partner there is quite a lot more to gain and hopefully we will see over 16,000 points and even a world record soon.

You can trust us that we will not be holding back when we get our second X1950 graphics card. Until then we have some more detailed information about Kinc’s bench system below.
