Kingston is apparently about to order large quantities of NAND flash from Samsung Electronics. Kingston is today a faithful Toshiba customer, which manufacture MLC (Multi-Level Cell) NAND flash, which in turn has been preferred by Kingston. Samsungs SLC (Singel-Level Cell) NAND flash has simply been up to 30% more expensive. However now Samsung has started to migrate to MLC NAND flash manufacturing and revised its prices, which has made Kingston interested. The demand for NAND flash is rather high at the moment and the broad installation base that is starting to grow from this can hardly be a surprise to anyone. Source: DigiTimes
