Kingston has unveiled one of its newest projects for the memory market and for once it is not a new Solid State Drive. Kingston has acknowledged the now widespread DDR3 memory technology that both Intel and recently also AMD supports with newest processor platforms. Kingston has developed 4GB DDR3 modules in its ValueRAM series it showed off on Intel’s X58 platform. Using six 4GB modules it created a 24GB DDR3 RAM memory kit that should cover most people’s need for RAM.
Kingston isn’t expected to launch these new 4GB modules until later this year and that might just be for the better. A 24GB memory kit should land somewhere around $2,000 today, which is probably more than what most people are willing to pay for memory, even the most demanding enthusiasts.
When the first 24GB kits appear they will most likely turn up much cheaper, but they will still be very expensive. Kingston has published a high definition video presentation of the new 24GB kit than can be found at YouTube.
