Kingston Technology Launches 2GHz HyperX DDR3 Memory

Intel’s official memory support only stretches as far as the highest JEDEC standard with the new Core i7 platform and there have been talk of higher voltages killing the processor, more specifically the memory voltage. That hasn’t stopped multiple memory manufacturers from presenting triple-channel DDR3 kits at speeds up to 1666MHz, until now when Kingston raised the bar with the first 2GHz kit for Intel’s Core i7. It comes with a specified voltage of 1.65V that is within the Intel recommendations, despite the high clock frequencies.
