Kingston Technology is the largest memory manufacturer in the world and it had an impressive marketshare of 19.5% during the first quarter of 2006. Second is A-Data Technology with 6.1% and according to analyst firm DRAMeXchange the market for memory modules will increase significantly this year. Up to 12% growth compared to 2005 is expected where manufacturers from USA and Taiwan are dominating, only two manufacturers among the top 20 comes from another country. Worth mentioning is that DDR1 memory is still outselling DDR2 and that 46.9% of the world’s memory modules comes from USA, while 23% is shipped from Taiwain.
