Kontron is a company that focuses on so called embedded platforms. It has now launched five new of these and four more or less normal motherboards; miniITX, flexATX, mATX and ATX. The smaller platforms uses Intel’s mobile processors of the T7X00 series and is course not for the regular consumer, but it’s still impressive to see that the performance of Intel’s Core 2 Duo in a format that isn’t any larger than a PCI card. The modules are directly compatible with the previous models from Kontron using Intel’s Core processors, which makes an update as simply as possible.
The regular motherboards are build around Intel’s 965 and 945GM chipsets and both sports integrated graphics circuits, while the smaller platforms use everything from integrated solution to more complete such with Intel’s 945GM chipset.
