MADSHRIMPS compared Abit’s NF7-s (Nforce2), DFI LanParty (KT400A) and ECS L7S7A2L (Sis 746). It is a review meant to point out differences in chipset performance, not mainboard manufacturers. The three boards carry a totally different price tag (partially because of differences in chipset price, or manufacturer related). DFI is the most expensive of the test, ECS the cheapest. And which is the “best buy?”
“As we could see, the Nforce² chipset presented here by the ABIT NF7-s, is definitely the winner. The DFI on the other hand has a lot of extra features and stuff, but you pay for that, while the ECS is very cheap and has average performance.
I would recommend the ABIT for the real overclockers and high bandwidth users. The DFI would be for people that want a complete PC, which has an okay performance. The ECS board is very cheap, but this reflects in the performance of the motherboard, so the ECS would be good for office computers”
