LCD TVs are outselling CRT TVs, finally

Even if the LCD TV market is growing bigger and bigger, CRT TVs are still quite common, and remained the best seller until the fourth quarter of 2007, when LCD TV sales finally surpassed. According to a recent report published by DisplaySearch, LCD TV sales are up 56% from 2006 to 2007, which resulted in a market share of 47% for LCD TVs. The LCD technology was also strong in comparison to the competing Plasma technology and sold 79.3 million LCD TVs, compared to the 11.3 million Plasma TVs sold during the same period.



DisplaySearch also reported that for the first time ever, LCD TV shipments worldwide overtook CRT TV shipments, after an increase of
56% year-to-year to a record high 28.5 million units, or 47% of the world TV market.
