Those of you who are sitting around waiting for a portable based on NVIDIA’s Ion platform can cheer up a bit. About a week we told you about how Microsoft had given Ion its ”seal of approval”, which paved the way for an actual launch. Chinese news paper Commercial Times has received information that says Lenovo is planning to launch an 11.6″ model and 12.1″ model, both based on Ion and Intel Atom. This should result in a small and light computer fully capable of handling heavier graphics. Rumors speak of a launch close to summer.
