LG likes big screens and now that it has presented its ultrathin Xnote P210 it does it with a very interesting screen. LG’s ultrathin notebook can be compared to a netbook and its physical measurements are on par with 11.6″ netbooks available today, but LG made room for a 12.5″ screen.
LG Xnote P210 uses extra thin bezels, which means it has used the casing a lot more efficiently and lets the panel use as much space as possible. The result is a 12.5″ LED-backlit screen in a 11.6″ case and weighing only 1.3 kg it results in a slim computer with relatively large workspace. LG hasn’t revealed the resolution of the screen, but a qualified guess is 1366×768 pixels.
Despite the profile of only 20.9mm LG has managed to squeeze in fairly powerful components into the Xnote P210. We find a 1.33 GHz Core i5 740UM CPU, 4GB RAM, 320GB harddrive and 5.5 hour battery time. LG ships the new Xnote model in several different colors and themes with Windows 7 Home Premium. The price is near $1,000 in Korea, which does feel a bit much, but we wouldn’t mind seeing more solutions like this in the future.
