LG Electronics has released two new 3D monitors sporting several new technology and remove some of the irritations we see with other monitors. FPR (Film Patterned Retarder) 3D used in LG’s CINEMA 3D TV results in a brighter and sharper image, and according to LG remove the flickering when watching 3D.

The new monitors are called D41P and D42P and sport 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, dynamic contrast at 5,000,000:1, 5 ms response time, LED backlighting and D-Sub, DVI and HDMI outputs. LG’s 3D monitors also has a 2D to 3D conversion function that operates in realtime.

Thanks to the FPR technology you can also use passive 3D glasses, without a power connector or such, which makes them lighter and more comfortable to wear, and it wouldn’t surprise us if it works with any pair of 3D glasses.

D41P and D42P have already launched in South Korea and is expected to come to Europe in early June.
