LG recently launched four new LCD monitors in Japan and three of them are of the new 16:9 format. All three models sports 1920×1080 pixel resolution and 1000:1 contrast ratio. Through dynamic control the contrast can be improved 50,000:1, which together with 2ms response time sounds pretty decent. The three models are 21.5″ W2253V-PF, 24″ W2453V-PF, and 27″ W2753V-PF and all sport numerous video inputs, ranging from HDMI to DVI-D and D-Sub (VGA).

Availability and price for the rest of the world is uncertain, but the top model at 27″ only costs 35,000 YEN (~$360) which makes it quite affordable compared to many other monitors of the same size segment.
