Lian-Li, famous for its clean and shapely aluminum cases, has now launched a model which literally stands out from the crowd. Lian-Li Tyr X2000 is the name of the case and it doesn’t take long to figure out who Lian-Li is targeting with this new case. Tyr X2000 is namely close to 70cm high, simply a full tower. The case is a real beast compared to your regular-sized cases and you can’t hide this case, but on the other hand, maybe you don’t have to since Lian-Li has gone for a speaker-like look with Tyr X2000 to make it blend in.

Whether they have succeeded is up to you to decide, at least yours truly believes they have, but a case measuring 230x430x680mm is scary no matter how it looks. When you look inside you will see that there is room for most things, both components and cooling. The case supports E-ATX, ATX and of course Micro-ATX, 6 hot-swappable SATA harddrives in a special rack, dual power supplies and has mounts for four 140mm fans.

Lian-Li has made an extra effort to bring the noise down by using separate zones for cooling, rubber pads, and sound proof side panels.

Usability is close to top notch with a removable motherboard tray, thumb screws all around and convenient mounting mechanisms.

The case should appear in stores in August, but we don’t even dare to guess at what price. This is one good looking case, but we’re certain it’s also going to cost a penny or two.
