Lite-on announced its first internal Blu-ray burner some time ago and even if this unit still hasn’t arrived it has now revealed the next product. It is an external model of its Blu-ray burner called Lite-on LX-2B1U and it will be able to handle all different kinds of BD media, single and dual-layer, at 2x speed. The unit also sports DVD recording but evidently not the CD format. The external burner is connected to the computer with through the USB2.0 interface and will be launched at the start of next year. Lite-on has also announced that its internal unit will use the SATA interface, which we can only consider a positive thing.
